Hollywood Sandwich Shoppe Menu
For my Hollywood Sandwich Shoppe Menu, I kept the traditional black and white as the restaurant requested in order to help save them ink. I first chose three scrumptious pictures, drew circles with the oval tool, and then placed the images inside. I did so by going into the objects fitting drop down menu and selecting "fit frame proportionally." This allowed the picture to fit perfectly centered inside. I added borders around the pictures with the strokes panel to make them pop out and look livelier. I then placed the menu items in the left and right columns of the second page and copied the name and address to the front of the menu. I highlighted the word 'sandwiches' and labeled it under the paragraph styles panel, that way it made it much more convenient to make the same changes to the salads and desserts to all look identical. Once I was in the paragraph rule panel, I made sure the "rule on" box and "rule below" were selected; this made me able to add the lines under the courses of the meal that were available. The monthly "special feature" was added to the back as a little addition for when the customers flip the menu over, they will have a nice discount!

Sawdust Art & Crafts Festival Advertisement
For my poster design, I first began by going to the Sawdust website to see what their main color schemes were. I noticed there was green and red incorporated in the website, so I decided to use that for my colors as well. In the Gradient panel, I chose for it to fade from green to red with a touch of brown in the middle because I also took note of the little bit of that color used on the website as well; I thought it would look good fading into each other making it a subtle transition. In order to advertise my poster so it would correctly display their information when being made into souvenirs, other posters, etc. I stated what their cause is, how to learn more about this organization, and when their upcoming dates are. I found a lovely picture and it was so appropriate for this assignment, I had no choice but to use it. It has from yarn to colored pencils, to basket weaving and painting. It is a picture that has many words and speaks for itself, letting those who take just a simple glance at it know exacly what it's trying to display. I also decided to make the picture fade into the green/ red transition so it blended nicely rather than being a separate piece of the poster. In the end, everything came together to make a wonderful advertisement so that all can know about the fabulous Sawdust Art & Craft Festival!

Humane Society Calendar
For my calenders, I chose to keep it consistent by doing the same theme on all three of them. I decided to change out each of the pictures, as well as the strokes, to mix it up a bit, but not to the point of it being too busy. I changed all of the days in each month to make sure they were consistent and falling on the correct date. One of my pictures has a dog with a bow on its head; I went with this image to promote what a great present/ addition it would make to any family. For my next image, I chose a cat behind bars to display what their everyday lives consist of, in hopes of having a few people show sympathy by coming to the Humane Society to see that each animal there deserves a better life. For my last picture, I chose a German Shorthair Pointer because I have this dog and of course had to include it! This image is of the dog playing outside, portraying how much fun and love they have to offer. I added four coupons at the bottom so it would be convenient for the customer to cut out and take to the adoption of their new furry friend!
